Warranty Policy
This limited warranty applies to eligible COASTA electric bicycles purchased directly from coastaebike.com.
This warranty is in addition to rights that may be provided by applicable consumer law. It does not exclude or reduce rights that cannot legally be waived.
2.1 Products and purchasers covered
This warranty applies to:
· A new COASTA electric bicycle purchased directly from coastaebike.com
· The original retail purchaser
· The original product and original factory-supplied components
· A product used and maintained in accordance with the user manual
Proof of purchase is required. Warranty registration may help COASTA locate product information, but registration does not replace proof of purchase and is not a condition of rights that cannot legally be conditioned on registration.
The warranty is not transferable unless applicable law requires otherwise.
2.2 Warranty periods
The warranty begins on the original delivery date.
|

2 years |
|
Original battery |
1 year |

A repaired or replaced component is covered for the remainder of the original component warranty period, or for any longer minimum period required by law. A repair or replacement does not restart the original warranty period.
2.3 What this warranty covers
This warranty covers a defect in materials or workmanship that:
· Existed in the covered component during the warranty period
· Occurred under normal and intended use
· Was not caused by an excluded event or condition
· Is confirmed through COASTA’s reasonable diagnostic process
Cosmetic variation, ordinary noise, normal adjustment, and ordinary deterioration are not defects unless they materially impair safe or intended operation.
2.4 Available remedies
For an approved claim, COASTA may choose the remedy that is reasonable and appropriate in the circumstances, including:
· Remote troubleshooting
· Adjustment instructions
· Replacement of a covered component
· Repair of a covered component
· Replacement of the product
· Refund or partial refund where repair or replacement is not reasonable or is required by law
COASTA may use a new, refurbished, or functionally equivalent replacement component where permitted by law. Replacement parts may differ cosmetically from the original part but must be suitable for the intended function.
For an approved covered defect, COASTA will provide the covered replacement part or other approved remedy without charging for the covered part. Any authorized labor, diagnostic, or transportation arrangement will be confirmed in writing before costs are incurred.
2.5 How to make a claim
Email support@coastaebike.com and provide:
· Purchaser’s name
· Order number
· Product model
· Product serial number
· Delivery date
· Current mileage or odometer reading
· Clear description of the issue and when it began
· Photographs of the complete bicycle
· Clear photographs or video of the affected component
· Any diagnostic information requested by COASTA
COASTA may request additional testing, video, photographs, battery information, error codes, or return of the affected component.
Do not ship a bicycle or component until COASTA issues written instructions.
2.6 Diagnosis and cooperation
The customer must take reasonable steps to prevent further damage after a problem appears.
Continuing to ride after a safety warning, visible damage, overheating, abnormal noise, braking failure, structural concern, or electrical fault may cause additional damage that is not covered.
The customer must reasonably cooperate with remote diagnosis and provide accurate information. COASTA may decline a claim if the product cannot be inspected because required evidence is withheld, the serial number is altered, or the product is unavailable.
2.7 Repairs, labor, and third-party work
Do not authorize a repair, buy a replacement part, or incur labor, transport, towing, storage, or diagnostic charges expecting reimbursement unless COASTA has approved the work in writing.
COASTA does not require the customer to use COASTA-branded parts or a particular repair service merely to keep the warranty valid. However, this warranty does not cover damage caused by an incompatible part, improper repair, negligent service, or unauthorized modification.
Where COASTA approves third-party work, the approval will state the authorized scope and maximum reimbursable amount.
2.8 Normal wear and maintenance items
This warranty does not cover normal wear or routine maintenance.
Wear and maintenance items include, without limitation:
· Tires and inner tubes
· Brake pads and rotors
· Chains, belts, sprockets, and cassettes
· Cables and housing
· Bearings
· Grips
· Pedals
· Saddles
· Fasteners requiring routine inspection or adjustment
· Paint, decals, finishes, and other cosmetic surfaces
· Lubricants and other consumables
A wear item may be covered if COASTA confirms that the failure was caused by a manufacturing defect rather than ordinary use.
2.9 Battery coverage
The battery warranty covers confirmed manufacturing defects in the original battery during the applicable period.
Lithium-ion batteries naturally lose capacity through age, charging cycles, temperature, storage, and use. Normal capacity reduction is not a manufacturing defect.
Battery coverage does not include damage caused by:
· Use of an incompatible or unauthorized charger
· Charging outside the specified temperature range
· Improper long-term storage
· Prolonged storage at an extremely low state of charge
· Deep discharge caused by failure to follow storage instructions
· Water immersion or excessive moisture
· Physical impact, puncture, crushing, or opening the battery enclosure
· Alteration of the battery management system
· Exposure to fire, extreme heat, or freezing conditions
· Use in a product for which the battery was not supplied
2.10 Exclusions
This warranty does not cover damage, failure, or accelerated wear caused by:
· Accident, collision, fall, impact, fire, theft, vandalism, or abuse
· Racing, stunt riding, jumping, rental, commercial use, or other use outside the product’s intended purpose
· Operation above stated rider, cargo, speed, terrain, or load limits
· Improper assembly, adjustment, maintenance, charging, or storage
· Failure to follow the user manual or safety instructions
· Unauthorized tuning, speed modification, wiring changes, software alteration, or removal of safety limits
· Installation of an incompatible battery, motor, controller, charger, wheel, brake, or electrical component
· Water immersion, flooding, pressure washing, saltwater exposure, corrosion, or excessive moisture
· Environmental events, including lightning, fire, flood, extreme temperature, or other external causes
· Damage during transport after delivery to the original purchaser
· A removed, altered, or unreadable serial number
· Continued use after a fault or safety issue should reasonably have been noticed
· A product purchased from an unauthorized seller
· A product represented as new when purchased used, refurbished, salvaged, or damaged
The exclusion applies only to the extent that the excluded condition caused or contributed to the claimed failure.
2.11 Shipping damage
Shipping damage is handled as a delivery claim rather than a manufacturing warranty claim.
Report visible or concealed shipping damage promptly, retain the packaging, and provide the evidence listed in the Return & Refund Policy.
2.12 Geographic scope
Warranty service is available in the country or region to which COASTA originally delivered the product.
If the product is moved to another country or region, the customer may be responsible for additional shipping, customs, tax, or service costs, and some remedies may not be available.
2.13 Product safety and legal use
The customer is responsible for understanding local laws governing motor power, speed, throttle use, age, helmet requirements, licensing, registration, insurance, and permitted riding locations.
Some products or operating modes may be restricted to private property or off-road use in certain jurisdictions.
A legal restriction does not by itself create a product defect.
2.14 Limitation of duration and liability
To the extent permitted by law, any implied warranty that cannot be disclaimed is limited in duration to the applicable written warranty period stated above.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limits on the duration of implied warranties, or exclusion of incidental or consequential damages. In those jurisdictions, the relevant limitation does not apply.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, COASTA is not liable under this limited warranty for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including loss of use, lost income, substitute transportation, storage, or unauthorized repair costs.
2.15 Consumer rights
This limited warranty gives the purchaser specific legal rights. The purchaser may have additional rights that vary by country, state, or province.
Nothing in this warranty excludes a mandatory consumer guarantee, remedy, or right that cannot legally be excluded.
