Frequently Asked Questions
Find clear answers about batteries, range, choosing a model, shipping, warranty, returns, payments, and support.
Battery & Charging
Battery care, charging, removable batteries, and wet-weather guidance.
How long does a COASTA e-bike take to charge?
Charging time varies by model and charger. Current CT6 specifications list about 6 hours with the supplied 3A charger, while CT8 lists about 8 hours with a 3A charger. Always check the technical specifications for your exact model and use the supplied or COASTA-approved charger.
Can I remove the battery and charge it off the bike?
Battery configuration varies by model. The CT6 uses a removable battery that can be charged on or off the bike. For other models, check the product specifications or owner guidance before removing or charging the battery.
Can I charge my e-bike indoors?
Yes, when the owner guidance for your model allows it. Charge in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from heat and flammable materials, and use the supplied or approved charger. Do not charge a battery that is wet, damaged, unusually hot, or showing signs of swelling.
Can I ride a COASTA e-bike in the rain?
COASTA electrical systems are designed for normal riding conditions, but the bike should not be submerged, ridden through deep standing water, or cleaned with a pressure washer. After wet rides, dry the bike and electrical connections before charging and follow the owner manual for your model.
Range & Performance
What affects real-world range, speed, and day-to-day performance.
How far can a COASTA e-bike go on one charge?
Range depends on the model and riding conditions. Current headline specifications list CT6 at 35+ miles, CT2 at 40+ miles, and CT8 at up to 40 miles. Actual range varies with assist level, terrain, rider and cargo weight, temperature, tire pressure, wind, and riding style.
What affects e-bike range the most?
Higher assist or throttle use, hills, headwinds, heavier loads, low tire pressure, cold temperatures, frequent hard acceleration, and sustained high speed can all reduce range. Smooth acceleration, correct tire pressure, and lower assist levels generally help extend each charge.
How fast do COASTA e-bikes go?
Top speed depends on the model and configuration. Current CT6 specifications list up to 40 MPH, while CT2 and CT8 list up to 41 MPH. Local laws may restrict motor power, throttle use, speed, age, equipment, or where an e-bike may be ridden, so always follow the rules that apply in your area.
Buying Guide
Choose the right COASTA model and know what to expect before your first ride.
What is the difference between CT2, CT6, and CT8?
CT2 is a fat-tire model focused on versatile everyday and mixed-terrain riding, with a 52V 25Ah battery and 40+ mile headline range. CT6 is the more aggressive off-road option, with 5000W dual motors, a 52V 20Ah battery, 26 × 4.0 tires, and full-suspension hardware. CT8 combines 5000W dual motors with a larger 52V 25Ah battery for all-terrain use. Compare the current product specifications before ordering because configurations may change.
How much assembly is required when my bike arrives?
COASTA e-bikes arrive mostly assembled, but final setup and safety checks are required before the first ride. Follow the supplied setup guide and confirm the handlebars, front wheel or other shipped components, pedals, brakes, tire pressure, and fasteners are correctly installed and adjusted.
Are COASTA e-bikes UL certified?
Certification can vary by model. For example, the current CT6 technical specifications list UL 2849 certification. Check the technical specifications and certification label for the exact model you are considering, especially if certification is required by a building, insurer, rebate program, or local authority.
